Executive Director I
Pay Range: $104,000 - $142,000 * Exempt
Position Summary:
The Director of Training and Development is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of training initiatives that enhance employee skills, support professional growth, and align with overall program goals. This role involves conducting training needs assessments, selecting effective training methods, recruiting qualified trainers, and engaging site leadership in continuous quality improvement efforts. In addition, the Director ensures all sites maintain compliance with program, district, and state guidelines, contributing to the overall effectiveness and integrity of program operations.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates the development of the Branch Board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
2. Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
3. Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
4. Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
5. Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
6. Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
7. Develops and directs high-quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
8. Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
9. Directs branch marketing and communication efforts.
10. Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts degree
2. Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
3. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
4. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
5. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
6. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
7. YMCA Branch Leader certificate required within three years from date of hire.
8. CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. kitchen and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
